The core workflow is simple: workers check in and out at the site, supervisors create and assign tasks, and managers review reports and payroll. Most crews adopt the check-in workflow within the first week.

A worker taps check-in when they arrive at the job site. FastBuild records the time and GPS location, validates the location against the site's geofence, and starts a work session. Check-out closes the session and the hours are calculated.

The check-in is recorded but flagged as a GPS exception, and the manager is notified. The record includes the distance from the site boundary so the exception can be reviewed. Exceptions appear in the daily report.

Yes. Employees can view their own check-in history, weekly timeline, and monthly attendance summary showing present, late, absent, and early departure days.

Overtime rules are configured at the company level with a daily threshold, a weekly threshold, and an overtime rate multiplier. Hours beyond the thresholds are classified as overtime in the attendance and payroll records.

A geofence is a virtual boundary around a job site, defined by a center point and a radius. FastBuild uses it to verify that check-ins and check-outs happen on site.

When you register the site, you pin its location on the map and set the geofence radius to match the physical boundary. The radius can be edited later, and sites can be deactivated when a project ends.

No. Location is captured at check-in and check-out only. FastBuild verifies presence at the boundary moments that determine the hours; it is not a continuous location tracker.

Yes. Supervisors create tasks with a title, description, priority, and due date, and assign them to a crew member. Workers update tasks through the status workflow: to-do, in progress, review, done.

Completed tasks appear in the daily report for the site, so the task record and the project documentation agree.

Yes. Tasks that are no longer relevant can be deactivated, which preserves the history while keeping the active list clean.

From the Sites section, choose to register a new site, enter the site name and address, pin the location on the map, and set the geofence radius. The site then appears in the site list and can accept attendance.

Yes. Each site has its own crew, geofence, tasks, attendance, and daily reports, so a company running several sites keeps every record organized per project.

The site can be deactivated. It stops accepting check-ins and leaves the active list, while its history stays available for reports and records.

Invite the employee by email from the Employees section, choosing the role (manager or employee). The employee accepts the invitation and joins the company with the assigned access.

The employee is deactivated, which immediately revokes their access while preserving their employment and payroll history.

Yes. Company owners can create custom roles, duplicate existing roles and adjust them, and grant or revoke individual permissions so access matches responsibility.

Payroll hours come from the attendance records: the GPS check-in and check-out sessions within the pay period. The same hours the supervisor reviewed are the hours payroll calculates.

FastBuild calculates gross pay from hours, overtime, holiday, and vacation pay, then applies the structure of Canadian payroll: CPP, EI, and federal and provincial income tax, to produce net pay.

No. FastBuild is a calculation tool that follows the structure of Canadian payroll. Tax rates and thresholds change over time; employers should verify current requirements with the CRA, provincial authorities, or a qualified professional.

Yes. Each employee can view their own pay stubs showing regular pay, overtime pay, gross pay, each deduction, and net pay.

Choose the site and date and generate the report. FastBuild assembles the attendance, hours, completed tasks, and GPS exceptions sections from the day's records, and the report can be exported as a PDF.

The reporting capability is available to the roles with report permissions, as configured by the company's role setup, typically employees and managers.
